Practitioners specialising in refugee protection and immigration work have urged the Home Office to concede on tribunal appeals of Afghan nationals that are waiting to be heard.

In a joint letter, practitioners and the Afghanistan and Central Asian Association outlined several detailed ‘concrete measures’ to help Afghan citizens. This included deploying more governmental staff to provide emergency assistance on phone lines and that telephone lines should be free of charge.

Another measure suggested was to set up a facility should be set up for family members in the UK to submit email applications for family reunion where relatives are at risk and the UK is the most appropriate country of refuge.
