Helena Normanton, the first woman to practice as a barrister in UK courts has been honoured with a blue plaque at her former London home.

Normanton was also the first woman to run a trial at the Old Bailey and the first female counsel to lead in a case at the High Court.

The plaque was presented by Baroness Hale, the first female head of the UK Supreme Court.
