Nine Insulate Britain protestors who were jailed for contempt of court for breaching an injunction preventing protestors from blocking he M25 have been ordered to pay costs of £5000 each.

They were jailed for between three and six months and the High Court awarded National Highways Limited, which brought the committal applications, its costs in the sum of £45,000.

The claimants had claimed a total of £91,307.92 which the judge ruled ‘unreasonable’.
