The 2015 Rainbow Europe Index was compiled by ILGA-Europe, and measures progress in European countries on LGBTI equality against 48 criteria. These include legal protections from discrimination in work and services, measures to tackle hate crime, rights and recognition for transgender and intersex people, and equality in family law.Scotland now meets 92% of ILGA’s criteria for LGBTI equality and human rights legislation following the introduction of same-sex marriage last year. The UK as a whole scored 86%.
