A woman who was threatened with a £250 fine over an unpaid £1 parking ticket has had her fine dismissed by a Judge in Manchester’s County Court.
The case arose when the woman reported the ticket machine broke and was assured it would be fixed and could pay later. On her return to her vehicle she discovered a £100 fine.
The Judge ruled that by contacting the company to indicate the fault with the machine illustrated an intention to pay.
